Gingrich Like Churchill: The Right Man For The Right Time

Posted on 8:49 AM by Unknown

Gingrich Looking Churchillian In Political Comeback
Editorial
Investor's Business Daily
January 20, 2012

Leadership: A great debater. Politically polarizing. Prone to great error, but also prone to spectacular success. Steeped in history. Politically brilliant. Unorthodox. Audacious.

All these qualities were once used to describe Winston Churchill. Today, you might use the same words to describe Newt Gingrich. Sound absurd? Not when you think about it.

Churchill, like Gingrich, was a brilliant politician with a powerful sense of the occasion.
Sometimes prickly, often witty, but never dull, his career had lots of ups and downs — ranging from being blamed for the disastrous Gallipoli campaign in World War I to being credited as the father of the British welfare state — not exactly a compliment among conservatives, then or now.

Indeed, by Churchill's own admission, "The Conservatives have never liked nor trusted me." The same thing can be said of Gingrich, who has had a tortured relationship with the GOP's conservative wing, to say the least.

And yet, when his nation called on him to lead in 1940, Churchill was ready — the right man for the right time. With America's government under President Obama moving rapidly to the extreme left, Gingrich too might be the right man for the right time.

Old Republican Bulls Fear Newt Gingrich Because . . .

Posted on 7:46 AM by Unknown
Why the establishment fears Newt Gingrich
By Robert S. Walker
The Washington Post
December 22, 2011

Robert S. Walker, executive chairman of the public policy firm Wexler & Walker, represented Pennsylvania’s 16th District in the U.S. House from 1977 to 1996. He is an unpaid adviser to the Gingrich campaign.

After Newt Gingrich rose in the polls, criticism of the former House speaker began grabbing headlines. But Republican establishment attacks on Newt are not new. Newt’s political career has been devoted to mounting a conservative challenge to the establishment’s desire to play the Washington power game of go along to get along.

As a junior congressman, Newt founded the Conservative Opportunity Society (COS), a group of activist members of Congress whose goal was to challenge the liberal welfare state but whose first target was the Republican establishment in the House of Representatives. The “old bulls” who dominated the party in the House had become quite comfortable in their minority status and saw little chance they would ever become a majority. Newt and the COS knew that, to create a true conservative agenda, the party needed to focus on becoming a majority. We used the House floor and C-SPAN to promote our ideas. We attacked spending bills and efforts to expand government, some of which the establishment had endorsed. It reacted by telling newly elected members to stay away from those COS guys because they are trouble.

The Media Is Setting Us Up: We 'Must' Have A Perfect Candidate To Defeat Obama

Posted on 10:54 AM by Unknown
We're Not Electing a Messiah
By R. Clayton Strang
AmericanThinker.com
November 26, 2011

No one is perfect.  No one.  Not a single one of us has led a completely blameless life.  We've all said something that we wish we hadn't.  We've all lied, cheated, or stolen.  We've all done or said hurtful things.  Imperfection is a reality of the human condition.  We know and accept that we are flawed.  We realize that our parents, brothers, sisters, friends, and neighbors are flawed.  If we accept this as true, why do we expect more from our potential elected leaders?

Fearful Intellectual Conservative Syndrome

Posted on 9:09 PM by Unknown
Fearful Intellectual Conservative Syndrome
By Lloyd Marcus, Proud Unhyphenated American

I was stunned when conservative author Ann Coulter endorsed Mitt Romney for president. I love Ann. I even named her in my tribute song honoring Conservative women, “Our Girls”.

Why would one of my conservative heroes select a liberal-lite to run against the Mike Tyson of political opponents. No, I am not suggesting Obama would bite off the ear of our presidential candidate, but Obama is a Chicago style no-holds-barred politician. If your opposition brings a political stick, you bring a political gun. That's the Chicago Way.

As Chairman of the CampaignToDefeatObama.com, I have taken heat from folks on our side angry because of our ad exposing Romney's liberal choices and tendencies.

Folks, here is the deal. Romney is not a conservative. Yes, Romney has made some conservative choices. But, they seem to have come after he has been drug kicking and screaming to the conservative side of the street.

Obamacare is an Obama-nation in regards to freedom. If implemented, Obamacare will end America as we know it. A Herculean effort will be required to repeal Obama's evil socialistic mega-control monstrosity. Can we trust Romney to go “all in” to repeal Obamacare?

Intimidated, fearful intellectual conservatives say Obama has the bully pulpit of the White House, the majority of the media and a billion dollars on his side for re-election. In essence, they believe we have lost our country. They believe a majority of Americans are infected with entitlement mindsets and class envy disease. Obama's media manipulated ill-informed infected zombies are going to vote for the guy (Obama) who promises freebies and vows to punish the rich.

Driven by fear, the game plan of our smart conservative gurus is to offer a liberal-lite candidate who will also promise freebies, but not so irresponsibly; punish the rich, but not so severely.

I believe these conservative colleagues are suffering with Fearful Intellectual Conservative Syndrome.

Intellectuals in our party such as Coulter and others are rallying around Romney because they fear America will not elect a pedal-to-the-metal true conservative. They believe we need a liberal-lite to defeat Obama.

Meanwhile, we not-so-smart naïve tea party patriots believe a true conservative will win in a landslide.

From national to local elections, solid conservatism was a huge winner in 2010. Since then, the pain, suffering and economic bleeding caused by Obama and his agenda has intensified. Thus, the referendum against him will be far greater in 2012. It is crucial that we exploit this golden opportunity to challenge Obama ideologically by selecting a true conservative presidential candidate.

While the democrats, by far, have been the major offenders, liberalism in both parties has been taking us down the road to destruction for years. In 2012, with a true conservative Republican presidential candidate leading the charge, we can begin taking America back from both parties; pointing her in the right direction on the road to recovery.

We did the “liberal-lite thing” in '08 and lost. Remember a guy named John McCain? So, why on earth would we go there again?

We know the drill. Here is the play by play. The lib media and Republican elite convince all the “smart people” on our side that only a reasonable “moderate” like Romney can possibly beat Obama. So, out of fear, we select Romney as our 2012 presidential nominee.

Upon Romney officially winning the Republican nomination, the lib media turns on him. Suddenly, they declare Romney a Mormon religious nut. They release all kinds of stories about how electing Romney would equal the personification of evil in the White House.

And no left wing/democrat exploitation of having a black candidate would be complete without the lib media, NAACP and the Obama administration finding ways to portray Romney as a stealth KKK card carrying racist. This would be the left's 2012 presidential campaign against our “moderate” Republican candidate.

Since we know the left will attempt to demon-ize and destroy whomever our Republican nominee, why not run a thoroughbred “real deal” conservative?

We tea party patriots have more faith in our fellow Americans than do our fearful intellectual conservative colleagues. We believe entitlement mindset and class envy disease has not yet infected a critical mass of Americans. There is still time to vaccinate the infected with the cure and restore our great country to it's former glory. The vaccine/miracle cure is Conservatism spread boldly and lavishly by our 2012 presidential candidate.

Conservatism won a former actor presidential candidate a 44 state landslide victory in 1980 and a 49 state re-election landslide in 1984. Conservatism can win huge again in 2012.

JustiaGate: Further Evidence of Tampering With Supreme Court Cases Regarding The Definition of Natural Born Citizenship

Posted on 5:13 AM by Unknown
JustiaGate: CEO Tim Stanley Claims Innocense After Blocking Access To Wayback Machine Snapshots Of All Supreme Court Cases Published By Justia
By Leo Donofrio, Esq.
NaturalBornCitizen
October 26, 2011

Yesterday, in a stunning development, Justia CEO Tim Stanley blocked Wayback Machine access to all US Supreme Court cases published by Justia.com.  This is the epitome – the textbook definition even – of hypocrisy.  As Dianna Cotter previously reported:

“Justia founder Tim Stanley has for years prided himself and his companies on principles of ‘freedom of information’.  On June 19th, 2008, Stanley addressed the Legislative Council Committee at the Oregon State Legislature with the following…

‘In the end, we both recognize the importance of providing the public with online access to our nation’s laws because such actions promote understanding, participation in and respect for our democratic institutions and legal system.’

Furthermore, commenting on a legal dispute Justia had with the State of Oregon, Stanley stated:

“We agree that public policy demands that state laws remain in the public domain. To otherwise permit the State of Oregon or any other governmental body to restrict access to the laws that govern all of us would make a mockery of the legal doctrine that all persons have presumed knowledge of the law. “

Does Tim Stanley believe that his publication of Supreme Court cases should be held to the same open standard?  Not so much.

Stanley is blocking access to Justia’s previous publications of US Supreme Court cases which are in the Public Domain.  Nothing being blocked is owned by Justia… other than the evidence our nation needs to have an open dialogue.  Stanley’s blockage makes a mockery of his prior statements concerning free legal information.  Past versions of SCOTUS cases which were – until yesterday – open to the public, exhibit with absolute clarity the changes made by Justia to these cases between the years 2006 and 2011.
 [snip]
The Slaughter-House Cases citations were tampered along with Minor in Snowden v. Hughes, and this is very important.  Tim Stanley’s claim that this was all an innocent code error is further strained considering that 8 of the 9 justices from Minor v. Happersett decided the Slaughter-House Cases where the Court stated:

“The phrase, “subject to its jurisdiction” was intended to exclude from its operation children of ministers, consuls, and citizens or subjects of foreign States born within the United States.”

Stanley is peddling a response to JustiaGate which requires one to accept that all 25 cases were accidentally altered to remove the words “Minor v. Happersett” and the official citations to Minor, while various portions of relevant text pertaining to the eligibility issue were also removed from other cases along with the Slaughter-House Cases name and it’s official citation… along with further references to citizenship precedents such as Osborn v. Bank of United States and Scott v. Sandford (removed from US v. Wong Kim Ark) which features the following definition of natural-born citizen:

“The natives, or natural-born citizens, are those born in the country, of parents who are citizens.”

Sound familiar? It’s the same definition of natural-born citizen as in Minor v. Happersett.  That’s some incredibly goofy code you got there Timmy.  Your code sure seems well-educated in the POTUS eligibility cases, bro.

Sarah Palin Elects Not To Run For President In 2012, but . . .

Pitch-Perfect Palin
By C. Edmund Wright
AmericanThinker.com
October 6, 2011

Last night, Sarah Palin's statement -- and her breaking news interview with Mark Levin -- stressed some extremely important ideas.  As such, her not running might well be among the least important topics she touched on.  Yes, I know that's the news that everybody was waiting for -- but what interested me most was what Palin said about her vision for America and how she said it.  It was crafted very intentionally --and it was simply pitch-perfect.

Palin spoke of ideas and priorities.  These were above and beyond what particular position she -- or anyone else -- might play in our arena of ideas.  That she's still very much in the arena -- and planning on making a difference -- is obvious.

In her written statement -- and her immediate follow-up interview with Levin -- she made it clear what was important.  Saving the country is all that matters, and the first step required for that task is to totally reverse our current course.  Of course, that includes removal of the current occupant in the White House.  Consider Palin's first action step:

Palin's Attorney Firm Asking Early States For Presidential Filing Deadlines

Sarah Palin-affiliated law firm made early-state deadline inquiries
By Maggie Haberman

October 4, 2011

Ken Vogel and I both have sources telling us that calls were made on behalf of a mystery candidate to various early states to determine presidential filing deadlines.

The calls were made by representatives of the law firm Baker Hostetler - a firm that employs lawyer Mark Braden, who represents Sarah PAC, her political action committee.

Visualize This Stark Contrast: A Presidential Debate Between Herman Cain and Barack Obama

Posted on 3:11 PM by Unknown

The contrast between Barack Obama and republican presidential candidate, Herman Cain, is stark. According to Cain, "The United States of America is not going to become the United States of Europe. Not on our watch!"

Imagine the optics of a presidential debate between Cain and Obama. The former a black, highly successful, job-creating, businessman with a rich baritone voice representing the republican party, and the latter a black, effeminate, platitudinous orator, who is at the very least a socialist, but most definitely a job-destroying, street agitator with no appreciation for or understanding of free markets and a free people.

Now THAT visualization gives me a tingle!
