Primary Election 2012: Update Jan 31st

This primary election process of 2012 is starting to be another political three-ring circus, dripping with hypocrisy when it comes to Mitt Romney, who complains about negative campaigning – and that is all he does nowadays. If asked a direct question, he never answers it directly – typical Washington crowd politician. What he say when answering a simple question becomes totally off track from what the question was, and after he is done, he gets blank stares from anyone with any logic in their brains cells. The response is appropriately – “Huh?” The simple, direct question is rarely answered because Romney is too busy trying to make himself look good and others look like fools, but he is the one who comes out the “class clown”. After the first debate, things have gone down hill. The only candidates being gracious is Ron Paul and the candidate from Pennsylvania, Rick Santorum, Mitt Romney couldn't come close to competing against Barack Obama in Election 2012, it must be someone who has the stamina, the experience of debate, and the fortitude to stick to the issues and gain the trust of the American voter. That would be either Newt Gingrich or Ron Paul, who have worked together in Congress, and if they were not campaigning presently, they would be working together now. The debates between Gingrich and Paul have been cordial and professional – they truly respect each other, and if it were not a disagreement concerning foreign policy and military strength and policies – they would provide an extremely difficult choice for primary election voters.

As far as Barack Obama, his State of the Union speech was full of more promises that won't be kept and misleading rhetoric; more like a pep rally rather than the report concerning the state of the union. His under-the-table procedures, his creation of even more czars and government agencies (too many) than we already have, his costly administration has not, as he promised in 2008 decreased the national debt, but instead has increased it drastically. The issue remains as to the legality of his birth certificate which indicates that he was allegedly born in Kenya, but his mother had his birth certificate doctored in Hawaii. Of course, being an infant he could not possibly have had control over such an illegal act and that alone – combined with several other issues that include stacking the Supreme Court, illegal mandates, et cetera. The media ignoring these things or downplaying them is politics as usual -- unless it was anyone that isn't a Democrat.

The following Cato Institute video covers points of President Obama's State of the Union Address, keep in mind that congressman Ron Paul has been trying to educate the People just exactly what politicians have been doing in their agenda of control for over 50+ years -- Barack Obama has adopted the socialist views of government, rather than a Jeffersonian republic that FDR initiated, and, who, by the way, was the one who initiated confiscation of taxes from your paycheck before you decide how to spend it ...

Only 5% of the GDP is spent on the military, yet President Obama is looking for further cuts and at the same time involving the US into deeper military commitments in the Near- and Middle-East and adding a military base of cooperative operations in Australia, after a recent talk with the Prime Minister there.

As far as the GOP Primary Candidates …

Besides accusations being bantered back and forth, class warfare tactics of the political left is also being engaged, for example, how little Mitt Romney paid in taxes compared to the other candidates. It is because Romney's income is based upon capital gains and dividends. So, Mr. Romney did not cheat on his taxes, he merely used the incentives provided and the loopholes of the income tax system that we should be working on, through our representatives and senators in Congress and the President of the United States to rid the American people of the intrusive, unfair, inefficient, and costly tax system that allows some to get over while others pay – on both ends of the economic ladder. The FairTax Actbased on consumption, with compensations for lower income Americans and with a flat rate would take care of those problems. Everyone will be paying the same percentage rate and the wealthier one is, the more taxes they will pay because it is based upon the factual concept that the more money one makes the more money one spends.

Mr. Romney, like other wealthy Americans worked for what they make, like the rest of us, except at a larger scale and because of his knowledge and experience – another plus for the advocacy of better education for more Americans. The whiners in society who don't make more are those who have either never had the incentive or lost it, as well as not ensuring they were educated enough to obtain career employment that paid more than minimum wage or annual wages above the government-established poverty level. It is true that some Americans have hit an economic low because of various reasons beyond their control – but too many think that high school education is enough and then complain about how little they make, et cetera.

Benjamin Franklin, one of the founders of our nation, understood the concept of class “warfare” or class jealousy (a childish way to look at things) – an instrument of the leftist politicians using the “divide and conquer” tactics established by the Marxist political system in order to gain favor with the public and gain political control. Here is what Benjamin Franklin wrote in his Emblematic Representations text:

History affords us many instances of the ruin of states, by the prosecution of measures ill suited to the temper and genius of their people. The ordaining of laws in favor of one part of the nation, to the prejudice and oppression of another, is certainly the most erroneous and mistaken policy. An equal dispensation of protection, rights, privileges, and advantages, is what every part is entitled to, and ought to enjoy... These measures never fail to create great and violent jealousies and animosities between the people favored and the people oppressed; whence a total separation of affections, interests, political obligations, and all manner of connections, by which the whole state is weakened.

If Americans want to make as much as Mr. Romney, or other Americans like him, instead of being envious, they should use those people as models to meet their own personal control of their economic future, and it will not take government hand outs to achieve that goal – it takes education, looking for opportunities, and plain hard work and diligence. The reason why the government, those that operate our government, should adhere to the limitation of government mandated by the US Constitution is a means for Americans to better themselves, which in turn improves the issues and conditions of our nation. Nations are made up of PEOPLE and the government is there only to do what the average citizen doesn't have the time for, the desire to, or the education and experience to do it properly. It is the People who elect those they feel can perform the tasks required to operate our government and ensure that constitutional law is the foremost in their minds – not for personal gain (power or monetary), but For the People.

Mr. Romney's past performance as a governor does not indicate he is the right choice to be our president. It is true that politicians, like the rest of us, sometimes see better options and results by changing their ideology or system of approach; however, Romney has a record of inconsistency where he talks the talk and doesn't perform the actual action needed to change.

Mr. Newt has had personal problems, and yes, was brought before a congressional committee while Speaker of the House, but he was not charged with anything. The $30,000 he was required to pay was for legal services. Newt decided to resign because he was receiving negative attitudes from those within his own political party – someone who was the architect of Contract With America in 1994 when the GOP had majority in Congress; and as usual, the Republicans, as a party, failed to properly use that majority to make some important and rightful changes required. They were too busy trying to please the opposition. Compromise is not bending to the will of one's opponent when facts show they are wrong or heading in the wrong direction.

Ron Paul has been consistent in his policies and ideology his entire political career and is a fair-minded person to deal with; as was evident in his graciousness towards his campaign opponent, Newt Gingrich. His record of consistency and voting in Congress the same way he preaches about fiscal responsibility, cutting waste and fraud, and deleting social programs that are costly but not efficient or do what it was meant to do. The only major difference between Ron and Newt is foreign policy and the role of the US military. However, the American people are tired of sending our sons and daughters to clean up other nations' problems. This does not mean we no longer need to fight against global terrorism headed by Islamic fascists whose goal is world domination through murder and mayhem in the name of Allah. That issue and a few others does affect our nation and it is in the best interest of the United States to continue in coalition with other nations to stamp the organized cancer of religious-political fanatics once and for all. To maintain peace we must have a strong military – this was Ronald Reagan's policy, and it was successful, despite cackling from the hypocritical political left.

I have left Mr. Santorum out of this equation because he is still inexperienced, although has some good points, and doesn't have the caliber to beat Barack Obama in Election 2012 for presidency.

Romney lost last time because of inconsistency, yet there are Americans who have forgotten or ignore his track record. He chooses to use negative character attacks and other negative tactics because his platform is not strong enough to withstand debating or candidate competition.

Gingrich didn't begin with the intent to provide an atmosphere of negative campaigning, but after being insulted several times by Romney and the media constantly doing so, he apparently is in a vendetta stage of campaigning. No excuse given here, just an observation. Newt has the intestinal fortitude, the experience, and the diligence to stand up to the political power of Barack Obama and his political machine. So does Ron Paul, but do you want our national security jeopardized due to Ron Paul's overzealous campaign concerning issues of foreign policy?

All in all, I don't know how other Americans feel about it without getting their comments on the matter or in some sort of poll, but I seriously have a problem deciding between Gingrich and Paul – and even vision them running together on a President/Vice President political ticket against Barack Obama and Vice President what's-his-name.

Well, that is why we have primary elections, one of the major reasons, anyway.

We need candidates who will inform us what the intend to do about issues at hand and less attempts to make the other candidate or candidates look bad – often their record speaks for themselves; it is up to the voters to do their research or take notes during the candidates last term in office and any media headlines that truthfully reports just what the elected official did or didn't do – regardless what political club they belong to.
I respect Mr. Gingrich as a person who tries to be a good statesman; however, he tends to stick to the traditional "good old boys" of the Republican Party, and although a Reaganite, he doesn't always stick to the solving of issues. Ron Paul does. Congressman Ron Paul is America's ticket to get our economy back on track and help return our government back to its limited dictated by the Constitution of the United States; however, he cannot do it alone. Members of Congress must work with Ron Paul, if elected as president, to achieve those goals and get our government back to what it was designed to be and do.
